I graduated from Towson State University in 1993 with a Bachelor's in Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology. I also got married that year.
I moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1995 to pursue my Master's at Nova Southeastern University. Unfortunately, I did not complete my Master's though I was doing great in the program. I think my divorce (final in 1998) was part of the reason. We had no children.
While in Florida, I worked for a television evangelist, Dr. D. J. Kennedy, at Coral Ridge Ministries in the Communications/Direct Mail Department. I had several short term jobs: leasing consultant and pre-school teacher. Finally, I entered the legal field and became a legal assistant.
I returned to Maryland in 2000. I worked at Patton Boggs LLP in Washington, DC. I now work for Wilson & Parlett in Upper Marlboro, MD.
My special interests are nature, wildlife, & pets. I have voluntered with Clearwater Nature Center working with owls, hawks, and snakes. I also foster kittens for the Charles County Humane Society and volunteer for some of their fundraising events such as "Bark in the Park." I completed the Veternarian Assistant courses at the College of Southern Maryland.
I currently have 2 cats, Sweet Pea & Lilly, fish, and 4 foster kittens.
I recently took a trip to Alaska in March. It was awe-inspiring. You realize just how small you really are. My travels took me from Fairbanks to Seward. I saw moose, caribou, eagles, Stellar Sea Lions, the "Pipe Line," and the "Northern Lights." I also took a dip at Chena Hot Springs though the temperature outside was -17 degrees. My hair literally froze. An avalanche delayed some of my travels as well as a volcano, Mount Redoubt, which erupted, delaying my flight home. It was quite the adventure. I definitely want to go back. |
